Numer1cal Recipe Series [NRS]





The Numer1cal Recipe Series [NRS] consists of computer generated images [digital prints] created in a programming environment called MaxMsp/Jitter using complex algorithms.
The sources of the images are sounds or electromagnetic radiation. The results range from graphical towards painterly. All works are printed in black and white.
For instance, [WÆke]_SonicRefraction, the sound of falling & scattering glass in a church. The recording is analyzed in the software, hence translated into an image. The work has a strong affinity with the oeuvre of Bauhaus artist László Moholy-Nagy (1895-1946). He was a strong advocate of the integration of technology and industry into the arts.
