De foto's van Geert Goiris tonen geïsoleerde en vervreemde landschappen die verwijzen naar het fundamentele gevecht tussen de natuur en de mens die het probeert te domineren. De kunstenaar refereert naar een natuurlijke schoonheid die op het punt staat te rotten, te eroderen en te smelten. Op die manier positioneert hij het landschap als een ruïne – een continue, cyclische transformatie tussen het historische en het veranderende. Deze beelden, die voortdurend door een vreemde aanwezigheid worden achtervolgd, nodigen uit tot een aangeboren geloof in een steeds meer artificiële schoonheid.
