As part of the 2010 Quadriennale, the Langen Foundation in co-operation with the ZERO Foundation, Düsseldorf/Germany, and the Vervoordt Foundation, Wijnegem/Belgium, is showing an exhibition of the work of one of the most important Belgian ZERO artists and painters, Jef Verheyen (1932-84). The oeuvre of this artist whose death was so untimely, is known for its extensive explorations of the phenomena of light and colour. His good connections to Düsseldorf and Germany and his amicable contact with Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, Heinz Mack, Otto Piene, Yves Klein and other protagonists of ZERO, form the point of departure of the exhibition.
