August 27-29, 2010
After the first Edition in 2008, FLACHLAND is back and kicking off the second Dutch-Flemish cultural festival in Berlin. From 27 till 29 August, Flachland storms the "Arena" in Berlin-Kreuzberg with a fancy mix of theatre, music, film, visual arts and literature.
The works of the participating visual artists from the Netherlands, Flanders and Germany are displayed on all three days from 2 to 11pm in the Arena's Fuhrpark and open air area. Common to all works is their multimedia aspect. The artists combine their works with several media, pushing the boundaries of visual art and thus re-thinking their roles as artists in the broader context of society and its commercial structures. The artists include Authentic Boys, Bas Fontein, Boris Ljugov/Life Inc., Ilse Roman, Jasper Rigole, Joost Conijn, Karl Philips, Katrin Korfmann, Koen Broos, Leen Persoons, Lotte Geeven, Michel Van De Waart, Neeltje Reijerman, Ria Pacquée, Roos Versteeg, Sammy Ben Yakoub, Semâ Bekirovic and Ulrich Hakel.
