IPEM is the research institute of the department of musicology (part of the larger department of art, music and theatre sciences) at Ghent University. The institute provides a context for innovation in music research, in particular in fields such as archiving, interactive multimedia, audio/data-mining, music search and retrieval, music and movement, emotions, and neuroscience. IPEM collaborates with many other research centers on an interdisciplinary basis.
