M HKA and WIELS in Artforum's best of 2012

M HKA and Wiels score high in Artforum's "Best of 2012". M HKA was chosen for its retrospective exhibitions of Chantal Akerman “Too Far, Too Close” and Jimmie Durham “A Matter of Life and Death and Singing” whereas Wiels distinguished itself with the exhibition on Alina Szapocznikow “Sculpture Undone, 1955-1972”.

Katerina Gregos appointed artistic director of Art Brussels

Michaël Borremans wins the Flemish Prize for Visual Arts

Flemish Minister of Culture, Joke Schauvliege, awarded the Prize of the Flemish Community for Visual Arts 2011-2012 to artist Michaël Borremans. The jury honored Michaël Borremans as "an intriguing and honest artist for whom beauty is not taboo and whose authentic oeuvre perpetuates the international image of the pictorial tradition in Flanders."

Nav Haq awarded the ICI Independent Vision Curatorial Award

Raoul De Keyser, one of Belgium's major abstract painters, deceased at 82 years old. De Keyser worked since the 60s to a very personal body of work which cannot be reduced to any fixed category.
