Curatorial exchange programme between Flanders (Belgium) & North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany)

BAM, the Department of International Cultural Relations of NRW KULTURsekretariat and the Goethe-Institut Brüssel are organising a curatorial exchange programme between Flanders (Belgium) and North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). The aim of this programme is to strengthen the relationship and enhance exchanges within the visual art field between both neighboring regions.

The programme in Belgium will take place from 30th May to 2nd June 2012 and will include visits of contemporary art institutions such as WIELS in Brussels, M HKA and the Middelheim Museum in Antwerp, and events such as TRACK in Ghent, Beaufort04 on the Belgian coast, and Manifesta 9 in Genk.

Participants: Elodie Evers (Kunsthalle Düsseldorf), Inke Arns (Hartware Medienkunstverein), Astrid Wege (Europäische Kunsthalle Köln), Uwe Schramm (Kunsthaus Essen), Peter Schmieder (Künstlerhaus Dortmund), Katja Aßmann (Künste im urbanen Raum), Julia Höner (Kai 10 Düsseldorf).

Parallel to this trip, a group of curators from Belgium will be invited to North Rhine-Westphalia from 23rd to 26th May 2012 and will visit art institutions and museums such as Kunstsammlung NRW, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Museum Ludwig, Kölnischer Kunstverein, Museumsinsel Hombroich, Kunsthaus Essen, Museum Ostwall and Hartware MedienKunstVerein.
