From the 3rd of December 2011 up to and including the 15th of January 2012, CIAP will present a one man show devoted to recent work by Stijn Ank (Aalst, 1977). Anks sculptures are the result of an intuitive and consequently pursued research process. Into a constantly changing mould he pours various layers of coloured plaster, sometimes in a controlled manner, at other times explosively. The resulting works make emptiness palpable. They do not manifest themselves as objects which impose themselves in the space, rather as subjects who constantly undertake new relationships with both the space and the observer.
