Jan Lauwers & Needcompany
The House of Our Fathers

The Kunsthalle is providing Jan Lauwers – who walks the line between visual arts theater, performance, and music, and his Needcompany, founded in 1986 – with a museum setting for a multimedia evolution in space and time. A walk-through spatial sculpture consisting of materials from the Kunsthalle's repositories will become a stage for performances by the Needcompany lasting several hours. In this "all-over" dramaturgy, the audience is exposed to the existential experience of its own decisions: no one can experience everything at the same time.

In cooperation with the Nationaltheater Mannheim within the scope of the Internationale Schillertage 2011.
