In order to encourage collaboration and exchange between Flemish artists, organisations and institutions abroad and to increase the knowledge and the visibility of the Flemish art scene outside Belgium, BAM organises the following activities.

On a regular basis, BAM invites foreign art professionals to increase international interest for contemporary art in Flanders and to reinforce its position abroad. Relevant persons from the cultural sector abroad and international curators researching on Flemish art for upcoming exhibitions are offered a specific programme.

Since 2007, BAM participates in the orientation trips that the Mondriaan Foundation and Prince Claus Fund initiated. These orientation programmes focus on certain regions, and

aim to intensify the exchange of knowledge, vision and perception between professionals working in these areas. The aim of these visits is to encourage international exchange projects.

In order to increase collaborative projects/working practice on long-term, BAM organises work visits and professional meeting days.

The International Newsletter  and the 'Arts Flanders Newsletter' BAM tries to inform all international contacts about the activities of Flemish artists in Flanders and abroad.
